Doing the Everest Three Pass Trek was the hardest and most amazing thing I’ve ever done. I had never walked so far, seen such big mountains, or felt so small in such a big world. The Everest Three Pass Trek takes you through three high passes—Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,420m), and Renjo La (5,360m). It’s one of the longest and toughest treks in the Everest region.
I trained for months before going. I walked up and down stairs, went on small hikes, and learned to carry a backpack for hours. When I got to Lukla and started walking, everything felt new. The air was cool, the trail was quiet, and the mountains were huge. Every day brought something different—crossing rivers, walking past yaks, and meeting kind people in small tea houses. I was tired many times, but I kept going.
The passes were the biggest challenge. Each one took hours to climb, step by step. The wind was strong, and the air was thin. I had to stop often to catch my breath. But standing on top of each pass, I felt proud. I saw white peaks all around me, and I felt like I could do anything. Cho La Pass was icy and tough, but also my favorite. The view from Renjo La was wide and beautiful—I could even see Gokyo Lakes shining below.
Many trekkers say the Everest Three Pass Trek is the best way to see the Everest region and now I know why. It’s not just about the mountains. It’s about the journey, the slow steps, and the feeling of doing something big. This trek changed how I see myself. I was scared at first, but now I feel strong and happy. If I can do this, I believe I can do so much more.
